I think that is so cool! Why would it be offensive? Little trivia, in my family we have one person in every generation who is born on January 20th. So far that's four generations of at least one family member born on that day! The whole family thinks that's really funny and cool!

No not at all. My son was born a week before my grandma died and I am firm believer that things happen for a reason so as one checked out one checked in. Its very symbolic too and gives you a reason to not totally hate the day. To rejoice and remember on it. It also could be fitting to have child named middle or 1st name after the grandfather.

That is really strange that this question would come up....My daughter is due on the day that my grandfather passed away there's no telling if she will give birth on that day but I do find it a bit creepy

everyone handles death's,birth's,etc in there own ways and maybe she just wants to remember her grandfather in her own way and this just so happens to be her way of finding a way to celebrate her grandfather forever more too,as well as celebrating something else that is so dear to her heart that she cant describe it in words.
Do you understand what i am trying to say?- I hope so.
Personally i think it is a great Honor to her grandfather, also have you tried to ask her what her own reason's and intentions for doing this on this date are? You might understand more of her reason's etc for doing so if you ask her straight out why she wants to have a child ON this particular date.

Hope this helps

I do not find it offensive at all. It means that the person had a lot of respect towards his/her grandfather and his/her grandfather is a person who (s)he admired a lot

No, I think it is a great honor to her grandfather. It is a forever reminder of who she is and where she came from.

think nothing of it. It would more than likely not happen, the baby decides when it'll pop out.

I would be flattered personaly. Nothing to be too worried about really unless she goes psycho about it.
