Malcolm macdowell plays a psychotic young man who main interests are rape, ultraviolence, and mozart. He considers himself a higher class kind of a criminal, and looks down on his "droogs" (I think it was droogs) who are his gang members. Eventually, when he is set up by his droogs and arrested, he is submitted to a punishment that is slightly sci-fi and surreal- and experimental procedure that claims it can make the subject feel extreme revulsion and even pain as soon as try to execute (or even think about) violence. This has some unfortunate side-effects for Alex, (malcolm's character) the mozart loving criminal.
There. I didn't give anything too major away, just know that it's a very surreal-feeling movie, with some nudity and much obscenity. (I LOVED it.) The title comes from 'orang-utang' which is one of man's closest relatives. It's also referencing the clockwork that makes up a person, and what happens when you alter it. thus= a clockwork orange.

Your favorite director, STANLEY Kubrik did a set-in-the-future type movie about what aimless youth might do in English society. The real point to the movie was about government intervention, however. The British government tried to use psychoactive drugs, reinforced by the forced-watching of films featuring acts of violence to give a boy (who lacked a sense of morality) a conscience. Of course, it back-fired, but why give away a juicy ending.
I actually developed a taste for Beethoven because of this movie.

I think his name is Stanley and it's been so long since I saw it ( '70s ) ...can't recall, except for it was a trip... I was a teen at the time. I think there was incredible scene of this woman devouring this orange, all the while with a woman friend in mind...the theater was electrified and silent, as I grew both thirsty and hungry as well as intrigued by her mastery all at the same time, it was excellent, never will forget that scene.
Freaky kind of chic flick,for it's time.Well, that's what I recall.
Thanks.
Stanley, is his name, though.
Peace.

This movie was off the hook. Cant even describe it. You may be able to download a trailer, but it is not one that can be described easily.
