Just ask them, when a girl asks a guy to dance, they can't say no. It's like a rule.

I usually look to see if he is interested in Science and maybe photography. Then I am subtle. I rhumba up to him and ask if he knows how to madison. That usually leads to The Time Warp. Things just go naturally from there.
Sometimes you just gotta speak the right words, like "Ah, I really feel geeky and all, and dancing probably is one of those things that we will eventually come to remember with a great deal of shame and self-loathing but...if we don't do it, our parents will never let us live it down. So, whatcha say we kill two birds with one stone and go together, huh?"

The simple answer is don't ask him. Just grab him and drag him on the dance floor. Beleive me, guys don't like the shy tee-hee would you, ah, kinda, like to, maybe, gee-wiz dance with me? At least I don't, I love ballsy chicks that know what they want and go for it. Far and few between my dear. If you're a woman let me hear you roar!

First you ask him "Do you like dancing?", and depending on his answer you ask him. i.e. if he says no, there is no need to further ask anything, if he says yes, then you are on your way. He might say no because he doesn't know how to, so if he says no maybe you want to ask "do you know how to?"

How about eye contact around... say something like a dance floor? A long smolding look...don't look away...stay focused. If that doesn't bring him your way...he's gay...can't dance...or stupid.

If he is a nice guy and you like him. Just go up and ask. Chances are he likes you to and will be flattered. I was shy and dinnt have the guts to ask a girl out and when she asked me I was overjoyed.
