I think people made such a big deal out of it. I bet a lot of people won't make a big deal about 7/7/07 because they probably don't know what the number 777 stands for.

Eh, it was a day. But I have a better question, What happened in the year 666. You can't get to 200 without passing 600.

I believe that 666 and all other forms of that crap are bogus!!!! I don't believe in them, (but maybe it's because I was born on Friday the 13 during a full moon, and am in college at age 15. You never know!)

It isn't even remotely connected with the 666 of the bible as:

1. Our current calendar was adopted long after the bible verse was written;
2. The date would be 6606 or 662006 not 666;
3. the biblical text do not note it as a date just a mark (and, IMHO, was a reference to Nero not the anti-Christ)

As for the biblical meaning of The Sign of the Beast, read Revalations, especially chapter 13.
Rev 13:18 - Here is Wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.

Some people read too much into things. People are intelligent as individuals but as a whole they are panicky and stupid lemmings. As for picking a date when the world would end, no one can predict that, it is not up to us. Remember the world was going to end when we went into Y2K. But, I will get an additional purchase if what I but totals $6.66. Stupid, huh?
