.....'toss her salad'? Really, I want to know what this is a metaphor. Someone recently told me this is 'guy code' for pulling some kind of trick on a girl/woman.

Everybody out there is absolutely wrong! It simply means that he is going to the grocery store to pick up a fresh variety of Romaine, Iceberg, Curly Endive and Arugala, perhaps some Tomato's, Cucumbers (dont get the wrong idea, here), Carrots (same here), Croutons, etc. Then he will cut these items up, just so and TOSS HER SALAD in a large Semi-Spherical contraption, known as a salad prep bowl. THAT IT.
