My LMP was May 17. I had unprotected sex on May 28. I have been feeling very tired and hungry lately. My period is due any time now, and I checked my cervix...it is high, closed, semi-soft, and I feel a sort of plug covering it. My BBT is higher than normal. Could I be pregnant? I took a test and it was negative.

checking your cervix is not nasty...it's normal. most women trying to conceive check things like that!

Cervical position won't tell you if you are pregnant. I don't think the cervical plug is relevant, either. Are you charting the BBT, or do you just have one or two high temperatures? A triphasic temperature graph (a rise in temperature at ovulation, and another one a week to a week-and-a-half later) almost always means you are pregnant.

I hope this helps. Good luck!!

How did you check your cervix? I've never figured out how to do that... :)

Anyway, you would have probably ovulated around the 31st and sperm live for up to a week in your system, so it's very likely you could have a fertilized egg. It might be the egg took a couple more days than usual to implant, so the hormone isn't strong enough to be picked up on a test yet.

I would give it a day or two and test again with your first pee in the AM. Sometimes the test is just not sensitive enought to pick up the hormone.

Good luck, hopefully you will find something out soon.

At the begining of your pregnancy when you first get pregnant the only change to your cervix is the color. It will get a bit brighter due to the increased blood supply but it will not feel any different until it is near time to deliver.

I would definetaly wait a few days then retest. I am pretty sure that the cervix retracts up when you are preg and your temp definately goes up! Good luck!!

You need to go see a doctor and have a blood test done to be sure. Sometimes pregnancy test can't read your hormone levels.
