How big would a magnet or artifical magnetic force need to be to repel an object away from earth's gravity, is it possible with todays technology?

acts of levitation are possible through magnetics, however if you are talking about an levitation that will push far enough to be out of the earths gravational pull.. no.. however there are magnetic propulsion systems underdevelopment that would be capable of reaching break away speeds...

It is possible and can already be done. Take two magnets, one large and one small. Lie the bigger one on a flat surface with, for example, the north pole facing upwards. Get the smaller magnet and put it on top of the larger one so its south pole is facing down. You'll see it 'defy' gravity.

To get a magnet that can give another magnet to leave Earth's gravity would require HUGE electromagnets and lots of energy. The force between the magnets would have to be great enough to give the smaller magnet (and its power source) enough speed to be larger than the escape velocity!

I suggest a quick trip to Google (or Yahoo) search and look up 'Lifters".

Lifters are basically magneto ion technology as old as basic magnets but they have uncovered a set of generally ignored anomalies that occur with electromagnetic cycles when applied to varying mass and structure but producing unvarying results.

What it suggests is that magnetism and gravity are similar and that the weak forces we usually lump gravity with may actually have a closer cousin on magnetism in an as yet undiscovered dimension.

To prove the theory though, one would have to actually bust a hole in between the dimensions and then observe the effect.

My guess is that dark matter does not exist but rather, that gravity is the lost element hiding behind a curtain of an undiscovered dimension.

It's possible and practical on a small scale. An ordinary bar magnet will levitate over a superconductor. Magnetic levitation (MAGLEV) has been used for trains. Key there is using something like superconductivity to maintain the fields with minimum power loss. The object needs to be magnetic, so you and the tennis ball don't qualify.

Not even a Tesla coil will help you here. Someone else posted this question one time, and a poster posted that it is VERY impractical.

The Earth's magnetic field is too weak for this to happen, and every North pole must have a South pole, so the magnet could just reverse and land hard back onto the ground again...

Are you familiar with the Davinci Code? of course, everyone is. There's a book written by a man named James Rollins. It's called Map of Bones. It's written very similarly to the Davinci Code; based on scientific facts and Catholic history, but with a completely fictional twist. He describes Messiner fields, m-state metals, superconductivity, and magnetism. There is some levitation with magnets in the book. He encourages readers who are interested in the subject to pick up Lost Secrets of the Sacred Ark by Sir Lawrence Gardner. Hope that helps

ever hold a magnet together using the wrong polars? the push away from each other. If held in it's suspended state something could be said to defy gravity as it is floating.

Egyptains have been small back then, like 5'2''. They used somekind of magnificent technologies, no question approximately it. They have been greater superior than human beings think of. Theres alot greater issues that are very very nearly impossible for human beings to do in recent times that human beings dont see by way of utilising staring at a pile of stone. The measurments, astronomy, tunnels, the stones area, the stone placement by utilising itself is great. some human beings think of they might have used kites, yet that would have taken a protracted time and it particularly is unreliable. human beings think of they used ramps, that's plausable, however the ramps could have been huge. One guy even thinks they used moist sand and overwhelmed stone to help it slide greater trouble-free, yet all and sundry knows how a truck caught in airborne dirt and dirt has suction and is slightly** to get out, so a pair ton stone might a been slightly** to boot. i think of that human beings back then had old college be attentive to haw and power and might have geared up it without alien help, in spite of the indisputable fact that it would have taken alot longer than 2 a protracted time. undergo in innovations all those people who declare they be attentive to how the pyramids have been geared up write books, and thats how they sell them, they declare they "be attentive to" how they have been geared up. There are photos in the pyramids of workers with gentle bilbs in hand and there have been historical batteries in baghdad chanced on. so as that they might have had greater superior technologies than we are in a position to fathom, I mean if that they had metallic cranes they used to circulate them, after 10,000 years might there particularly be any information no longer deteriorated. besides there are aliens, theres a important sort of information they circulate to earth, they do have anti gravity and and might have helped create the pyramids, so why dont human beings have open minds and are available up with trouble-free sense answer. If I observed the pyramids for the 1st time, this may well be my first reaction, Wow, those are extensive, I cant have faith human beings moved those into place with organic power in numbers with such precise placement utilising wood pullies, hemp rope, wood beams, they musta had some help. growth theres the respond. Oh yeah any advice and new technologies the protection tension relaese, potential they have already got the technologies their freeing to the universal public is old, they shop the better greater superior technologies faraway from the universal public.

yes it is passable, if you take two magnets and bring the two ends with the same magnetic charge(-&- or +&+) they repeal each outher. the only thing we have to do is find the right magnitic charge of the object and thay will bounce off each outher.
