Has anyone seen an old movie called 'Mars?' What do you think of that as a possibility?

Using mathematics to determine the chances of life elsewhere in the universe, one estimate determines that there are approximately 10^75 advanced societies. If true, then it is very likely that there is life beyond earth – even advanced life forms.

I would have to say yes there is life beyond earth, and I have ever since I saw the TV mini series V , and then E.T. at about 8yrs old. sound crazy but It just led me to believe that there is more out there then we as earthlings imagine. Look at the whole Roswell theory, and why won't they let people in the highly secured place that is supposedly home to a space ship? ( I forgot the name of the base, Sorry) And like everyone says the universe is much to big for us too be the only living beings.

Yes I do. The main reason being the huge size of the universe and our new understanding that there are many earth-like planets in our galaxy alone in what is known as a bio-possible distance from a star. The chances of there not being life in another part of the universe are extremely remote.

Whether or not it is as intelligent as us is not known, but there seems no reason why not.

I sure hope so. I do believe there is life out there. History proves it by cave drawings. there is also a picture painted of the Virgin and Child and if you look to the left, in the sky, the artist painted what looks like a space ship. If cave dwellers saw this and painted on cave walls, then the ETs have to be so far ahead of us in technology, we'll never catch up. Early man painted only things they saw on the cave walls. So yes, there definitely is life beyond our galaxy and I wish they took me with them.

Given the wide variety of environments in which life exists on earth, from sub-zero to several hundred degrees, in situations rich in various levels of nitrogen, carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, and even acids and chemical and biological conditions that are toxic to humans, I find it unimaginable that there would not be life on MANY other planets. The real question is what form that life might take.

Sometimes I wonder about intelligent life ON Earth. If there are advanced beings out there, they probably wouldn't waste their time here except as a curiosity.

Yes, because think about it, Earth is ONE planet, in ONE solar system, in ONE galaxy, in the universe! There has got to be somehing else out there!

It would be too arrogant of us to believe that we were unique. Out of the billions and billions of planets out there, to imagine that life did not exist is ridiculous. Contacting them, visiting them or finding them is a totally different kettle of fish due to the vast distances between us..............
