My husband is being very mean since the doctor put him on muscle relaxers for his back. He screams and cusses at me for the least little thing. He is usually a very happy, joking, laid back guy. I KNOW he needs the medication. How do I tough this out?

Talk to the doctor and ask them to put him on a different med. and see if this changes anything. More then likely this is a side effect of the medication. Poor guy:( I feel bad for him and for you... There has to be a different medication out there for this.

Tell him to stop being an a**hole, that YOU are not taking the meds, and he has reached his limit on being a jerk, regardless of the reason. AS far as I know, muscle relaxants do not make a person a jerk...he is using this as an excuse to be mean. Don' t let him get away with it...he wants you to feel as bad as he does...not very nice. And you can cut and paste this and show it to him! Straighten up you act, or your back is really going to be sore.

Try talking to his doctor to see if they can change the type of meds that he is on. He may need the muscle relaxers but he might be able to get on a different type that won't make him so irritable.

His doctor should be able to change his prescription if you let him know whats going on. You must keep in mind however that he is only a man and most men just don't have a clue what they are doing to you. it probably doesn't even occur to him that he is hurting your feelings and stressing you out while you tip toe around on those egg shells.Maybe you should leave him home alone while he recovers. Maybe then he might get it!!!

i agree with everyone else, i would talk to his doctor and see if you cant get the med. changed because muscle relaxers shouldnt do that, theres got to be something in them that he cant handle.

Tell hios doctor and maybe he can give him a smaller dosage of his med. It could be to strong for him and be giving him a chemical inbalance.
