Demographic studies show that improved education for women leads to slower population growth. Also, teaching people about STDs and condoms generally slows population growth. Legalized abortion inhibits population growth, and when the government knows when the next population burst is going to occur (by knowing how many people are in prime reproductive years) they can plan campaigns to slow population growth. The government already has many plans to slow population growth (based on these studies) and immigrant numbers.

I don't see why people don't move to rural areas. In many areas in Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Iowa, Montana...etc. You can literally drive for hours without seeing a house, or another vehicle. Why doesn't anyone live there??
This is going to come across as mean to some, I'm sure...BUT think about HOW many people live in the big Cities, and don't work...they just take advantage of the welfare system. Maybe there should be a law stating if you don't want to work, and live off of the welfare system, you need to move to a rural area...(like it doesn't matter if their are no jobs...they don't work anyway) . Then the Major metropolitan areas could be reserved for the hard working people who pay the taxes so that the others don't have to.

With our President, George Bush, he probably has no plans. As you can see he only has a 36% approval rate (as of December 2005). I think that he is worring about hurricanes at the moment, because he knows that it is now hurricane season in the US of A. He should be thinking about overgrowth in population right now because of people coming over the borders of the USA. I think that he should have some government plans, but 90% of me thinks that he doesn't have any plans, otherwise, we in the USA, would've heard about them.
