Who was the only player in the history of the game that made your jaw hit the floor with a negative yardage play? Barry Sanders! He would make a 6 yard loss look like an 80 yd touchdown. If you added up all of Barry's lost yardage and added it to his 15,000 plus yards he would be the all time leading rusher by far. He would sacrifice those plays where he got caught behind the line just so he could make teh entire defense tired of chasing him. By the fourth quarter the defense is so tired he can break a long one without breaking a sweat

I have a couple, Earl Cambell RB Oilers, He could run over anyone, Walter Payton RB Bears, The Nickname "Sweetness" says it all, and finally Dan Marino QB Dolphins. I was at the Meadowlands when the Dolphins had that great come back and beat the Jets that season when they were getting killed. After that game I thought he was the best.

Like Ron, I am a Packer fan, so some of my favorite old school players are Bart Starr, Ray Nitschke (best middle linebacker ever), Herb Adderly (who was not afraid to tackle, unlike wimpy Deion Sanders), John Brockington, James Lofton, Reggie White (did not like his conservative social views but he was a great player) and Lynn Dickey.
