Multiply your fraction by 100 to get percent. Percent just means out of 100. you can also do by setting up a ratio equation for example
4/10 = x/100 where x is your answer and it is 40. So your answer would be 40%

You simply create an equivalent fraction.
You do this by multiplying by x/x, where x is any number. You can do this because any number over itself is equal to one, and any number multiplied by one is equal to itself. In this case, you want to create a denominator of one hundred from a denominator of ten, so you multiply by 10/10 and get 40/100.
The numerator is your percent. This is because if you break up percent into per cent, per refers to how many out of something you have and cent means one hundred. Thus you have 40 out of 100.
