I will be 32 next month and my husband is 46. The vehicle we have is not dependable because it tends to cut off while you are driving it. We cant rent a car because we don't have a credit card and our debit card is no good because the bank account is at a negative reading (-$125.00), so traveling doesn't look like an option. We do have about $100.00 of pocket money saved up.
We don't like the same hobbies. He enjoys Fishing from sunrise-sunset LITERALLY, home cooked meals that aren't fancy (he likes tender fried steaks and bar-b-qued pork), and action movies/sometimes westerns. On the other hand, I don't like most of the things mentioned. I enjoy slow dancing, fancy meals (culinary school taught recipies), walking along the riverfront at night while holding hands, comedy plays, and music for whatever the occasion. I won't go fishing with him soon because I've been going with him the last few months and I'm tired of being sweaty, and looking trees and water all darn day.

Celebrating an anniversary is not about just what you want. Do I hear selfish here???? How about each of you writing 3 or 4 things you like to do, you pick one of his and he picks o;ne of yours. This way you compromise, please the other, and maybe have a loving celebration. The cost does not enter into this. Even if doesn't cost a dime, being together is what counts and you can't put a price of love. Remember compromise. I'm a Justice of the Peace and I have performed wedding ceremonies is every type of place....some cost lots of money.....some cost nothing. But it was with love.

Maybe you can try to compromise a bit. Maybe go camping - it's cheap and you can both enjoy yourselves. He can do some fishing, bring a portable bbq and you can cook inexpensively, and bring a small radio for some dancing under the stars.
Compromising both of your hobbies together will make everyone happy. But the most important thing is that you are together on your anniversary and that you love eachother. When you love eachother it doesn't matter where you are or what you are doing - because your together.

a camping trip together in a tent and make up a really nice picnic basket, bring a blanket to sit on, maybe some party lights you can hang around the tree wherever you'll be sitting or laying at lol...and maybe even a little boat paddling just the 2 of you and you can make out in the middle of the lake if one is around...thats where id go...its one of my fantasys to go out on the lake in the evening and do as we please...make sure there is no one around though lol. This wouldnt cost much at all and for getting there well you can always ask a friend , i hope anyways..its just for one night.

Go to his job and put your skimpiest pair of underwear on the steering wheel of his car, fill his car with just regular balloons, make love coupons for things he really enjoys to do and have done, write a racey love note in red lipstick on the bathroom mirror so he will see it before work. Make the coupons in shapes of fish and maybe when he comes home from work make some fish pasties to strategically cover yourself and give him some kind of makeshift fishing rod to reel you in. Tell him your going to be his catch of the day. Then give him a coupon to use for one full day of fishing with no complaints. Simple inexpensive yet creative. Then prepare his favorite dinner but serve it in your fish outfit. Hope this helps.

Do the same "Dam" things you did the last 6 yrs. for your anniversary. If it has lasted 7yrs. so far it can sure go another 7 yrs. by God. Seems to me you two have found a winning formula for living with each other happily. The old country saying "IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT" applies here.

the only thing scarier than the fact that you don't have anything in common is that you just admitted you overwithdrew your checking account by $125.00. what the..?!! maybe if he'd be a man and get a job and quit fishing all daggon' day you'd have money to do something nice. please tell me you didn't overwithdraw your bank account for nightcrawlers and fluorescent bobbers....
