Oh god... People STILL think that being gay is a choice?? People tease you, beat you up, you're the brunt of all jokes, people fight to make sure you don't get married... Why would anyone in the right mind choose a life like that? Trust me, it's not a choice.

I've battled with this too. I'm also a lesbian in a very committed relationship. While no....I can not show you something in the Bible that specifically says that HOMOSEXUALITY IS OK I can suggest a book for you to read. It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with homosexuality but it tackles so many religious issues that it'll make your head spin. Read the book The Da Vinci Code. It is chock full of religious history and gave me a lot of insight to The Bible and to how Christianity came about. The Christian religion was actually founded and formed by a man. I feel like the Bible is meant to be used as a guideline and not necessarily a dogmatic set of rules. I'll pray for you, my friend!

If you believe what the Bible says...then the only way it's OK by God is by never having (homosexual) sex. Because in the Bible, the homosexuals that are ostracized/killed were the ones having sex (Lev. 18:22, Lev. 20:13, Rom. 1:31-32). Although there seemed to be some liked ones (2 Sam. 1:26).
If you don't believe the Bible and believe that God is a loving, merciful, and-all-that-good-stuff God...then all you have to do is believe in and love God and live a good life, then you're good.

You don't need evidence to be who you are. No one can tell you who you are but you. As for evidence that God is ok with you being gay, it doesn't exsist. But there really isn't any evidence that God exsists either, and there never will be, because that would eliminate the need for faith. The Bible isn't proof of anything, it's just a book. Whether you believe it or not is up to you. If you don't believe it's a sin to be gay, then it won't be. And it sounds like you don't believe that it is. I don't believe that it is a sin, so I say go ahead and be gay, and if I'm wrong then just tell God it was my fault and I'll take all the blame for you. Deal?

The Bible is not the last word on everything (especially homosexuality)...it may be for you, however. But try to remember that not everybody is Christian. Also keep in mind that there are many Christian denominations that accept homosexuality as completely normal. The Bible was written by men, thousands of years ago I might add, who wrote about what they were experiencing at that time. Also, you will notice that there are no contributions to the Bible, as we know it, from women as they were considered inferior to men...and still are today in many places - is this what God wants? There were many peculiar "laws" in Biblical times - just read Leviticus - kill your children if they curse you, don't wear mixed fabrics, don't shave, women are property, if a women is unclean (on her period) she can't enter God's house and don't eat split hoofed animals. Other primitive beliefs were that black people were cursed by God with dark skin and those with leprosy and eczema should be stoned to death – the list goes on and on. I think we have evolved past that - or at least we should have. Most people have this image of a God that you have to please, praise, humor and ultimately obtain a reward from at the end of your life. To me that is not what God is. If you believe "God is what is" then God is the Homosexual and the Heterosexual. So I ask, how can one little carbon unit on earth, in the entire universe, sin against something so great, to "sin" against "what is”...it is impossible. Remember, the height of arrogance is the height of control in those who create God in their own image.

Why would you want to be a member of a club that wouldn't want you as a member?
I am in no way religious but I would have to say that a can't understand even the concept of a God who would put adherence to dogma (written by man!) over what is in a persons heart.
There is much in religious scriptures from around the world that we would find abhorrent today (particularly the treatment of women but also attitude to justice etc) ... although there is a convenient line taken to eliminate these as representative.
Overall, go with your heart and not with what folks tell you should be in it ... if I was in charge you would be well up the queue ahead of the televangelists.
Peace out

Unfortunately God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Eric. The Bible (at least the King James Version) does not condone homosexual behavior. Read about Soddam and Gomorrah. It refers to homosexuality in that story. God does not condone it or allow it. We make our own decisions on whether we walk with him and to him rather than without him and away from him.
