Go to a pet store and purchase Nature's Miracle. It is an enzymatic cleaner that removes both stains and odors. It is safe for use around children and pets, which I imagine means it is safe for use around just about anyone! I have used this many times on my carpeting (as I have 2 cats and a child in potty-training) and I have been very satisfied with the results. There is also a "satisfaction guarantee" on the bottle, so if you are not satisfied, you can get your money back.

Buy some Urine Gone at your local Target, Wal-Mart, or K-Mart. It works very well, and leaves a fresh clean scent. It actually gets rid of the smell and source instead of covering it up.
Directions are on the side of the bottle. It's around $19-$21.

I recently bought a cloth covered truck seat that had been in a garage for about a year and rankad with cat piss. I bought some odoban from my local world famous wal mart and sprayed the piss out of it. Letting it dry between applications. It took at least two bottles of this stuff but now after installation and sitting in the hot sun it has no pissy smell. Good luck.

I'm sure the manufacturer doesn't recommend urine either. Test a small area where it can't be seen with a steam cleaner. Or, if it's expensive couch, call a professional.

First, sponge the area with club soda and allow it to dry. Next, put lots of baking soda there, and then cover the affected area with something (an upside down bowl works well). Vacuum the soda, and then sponge down again with the club.

Try a product called "Nature's Miracle" available at pet stores.
It's an enzyme that "eats" organic stains, and has a pleasant smell. Works great for wine stains too!
