Don't go to the Apple store first!!! You should first check out stores like best buy or Circuit city. Maybe they can help you out with the usb connector. If they can't help you, then your last resort would be going to an Apple store, but they might charge you a lot to fix it. Hope you can fix it.

You could probably easily find an Apple store in your area. If not, try a local Target or Walmart that sells Apple products. I know for a fact that Apple iPods are sold by Target. Maybe they might not have the exact same cord manufactured by Apple, but maybe you can get one made by an alternative brand until you receive a new one from the Apple Store.

I guess that you could buy the USB port by specialty ordering from some computer or electronics store. Otherwise, you could send it to Apple. I don't think your warranty will cover it though because it was because of mishandling?

If it's a problem with your USB port, just see if you can get a PCI card and install that. What does Apple have to do with your USB port? You might also look on "Craig's list," if your community has one.

Depending were you live, try going to the Apple store. If you don't have one nearby go to Best Buy, Good Guys, Circut City, even Wal-Mart. I would try calling around first to save time and money.

Do you mean part of the port on the iPod itself? If it's still under warranty, contact Apple...they will tell you what to do.
If you mean on your computer, you'll have to talk to your computer manufacturer.
If you mean part of the connection cable, then call Apple and order a new one. Or order this one...depending on the model you have. http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore?productLearnMore=M9569G/A
