Do some girls just not get their period?

Some girls have irregular ovulation -- that's what causes your period. Most women are regular, ovulate on schedule and only stop when they become pregnant, if there is a medical condition or they hit menopause. But there is a small percentage of women who do not ovulate regularily. In an extreme case - and this is a friend of mine - ovulation only occurs once a year! She had a great deal of difficulty timing things so she could get pregnant, and she and her husband only managed it once. So the answer to your question is yes, some girls just don't get their periods.

Girls that are under lots of stress, or exercise a lot, like if they are in track sometimes don't get it.

Physiological stresses and hormonal deficiencies can cause irregularities.

Although if we're strictly talking minors here, no some girls don't get their period until after they are 18 or 19. It's uncommon but it happens.

I have hypopituitarism which means my brain doesn't make the hormones to tell my uterus to cycle, so unless I take a cyclic hormone replacement therapy, I don't get periods, either. Considering how bad my sister had cramps, it's kinda nice.

lots of things can stop a girl getting her period...PCO for example. Stress is one of the biggest causes of a girl not getting her period or a hormone imbalance.

some girls do skip thier period but it should be checked out by a doctor just in case

If you've never had you're period, and you're in you're teens,13.14 ....maybe it's time to see the doc. tell Mom. there's probably nothing wrong, but it's good to get checked out.
