Well, you've got the islands in Lake Erie like Kelly's, Put-N-Bay, etc. Some weekends my family chooses just to drive to a city we've never been before and do some exploring like Medina or Akron. You've got Amish country M-Sat. Cleveland has plenty of museums and parks. Also you should call 1-800-BUC-KEYE and talk to a travel counselor about stuff you could do. I live in Ohio but call them every once in a while and they send me a travel packet, which includes what I really want, which is the Calendar of Events with Ohio Festivals and stuff.

Also, try this Yahoo Group, which has links to different things to do around Cleveland and Ohio. Hope this helps.

If you like gambling. Right on the West Virginia border there is Mountaineer Gaming Resort, right next to East Liverpool only about a 2-3 hour drive. Day trip ideas: go to the Metroparks Zoo, Lake Erie, Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, Science Museum, etc.

Depending on what types of things you like to do. If it's outdoors, try Hocking Hills down near Columbus. If you like camping, go to Hearts Content in PA. Conneaut PA is about 2 hours away and they have an old hotel that's beautiful, but there's no heat or A/C. That's how old it is. There's an old style amusement park adjacent to the hotel grounds. Niagara Falls is about a 4 hour drive and there's tons of stuff to do there.

Look into the state and national park system. We have lots of spots around here. In Newbury, about an hour east of Cleveland, there is Punderson Park. It is lovely. There is a lodge and/or cabins to rent, boating, swimming, fishing, etc. There is also a resturant in the park as well as others nearby. A bit farther south is Hocking Hills park, that has camping facilities. Feel free to contact me with further questions, or for further ideas.
