They deserve respect to the end of the world. They fought ceaselessly agaist an enemy that can kill in cold blood. Our troops must be remembered.

The term hero is over used today thanks in part to the clown in the White House. I served in Viet Nam in 1969...was I a hero? When my generation of "hero" came back from that war we were called 'baby killers" and other not so nice names. They are simply soldiers. Doing a job that they enlisted to do. True heroism is not just by doing one's duty. It's going above and beyond that makes a person a hero.

What heroes? You mean the truly brave guys who gave their lives to save another troop or just the average guy who joined the National Guard and got called up?
They knew what they were getting into. The army is professional. They made that choice.

I love that they have the spirit to go out and fight, but keeping them there forever is not the solution to getting things done. They're great, but I feel bad for all those poor familes who are losing people like sons, uncles, and cousins, maybe even dads.

A hero is one who acts, not one who is acted upon.
Being dead doesn't make anyone a hero.
It makes them a victim.
