Is it wrong or right or shall i say okay, for a women to ask a man for his hand in marriage, and how long do you think she hould wait until she proposes marriage to him???? I mean we are in the 2006's these days!!1

There is absolutely nothing wrong with asking a guy to marry you...just make sure, like a man does, that there is a 99% chance you will get a "yes" to the question. And, be prepared to say C ya in the small chance that he says "no, not at this time." I assume you have been going together for a long period of time, that all is well, and it is time to get married. Go for it. It has been done for 100's of years, not just today.

If a man can ask a woman, it's fine for the woman to ask the man too. As for when, that's a matter of judgment, sometimes the two people have different ideas of where they are in the relationship. But I'd impose a lower bound at six months, it takes at least that long to get to know someone well.

I think women can and should take the first step if they are so bold. Who cares about convention? If the man is old fashioned it may hurt his ego, but it is a weight lifted off his shoulders. One less thing he has to chance bruising his poor male ego with.
I always encourage women to go and get what they want. They man may just find it refreshing. I know mine did... Of course, I let him put the ring on my finger.

it is not for a waoman to ask a man to marry her it is for a man to get down on one knee in a very romantic way and then ask the lady to marry him that if he loves her and want to spend the rest of his life with her , b/c it is very easy to say i do , but it is also hard to say i don't if u know what i mean , i believe u should wait till u think u are ready to get marry before u ask a lady to marry you just to make sure this is what u want

Sorry, I think it is wrong. The man should ask the woman's hand it is an honor to be asked and the man likes to initiate. It should be the man in my view.

yes i think its perfectly fine some women like to take charge. i wouldn't ask, i just feel its the mans responsibility and i want to feel like a women . but if you feel you must ask him cause you cant wait of need the power go for it

I think it is fine for the women to propose marriage if she is ready for a no becasue he may feel threatened...

I asked my bf to elope with me after knowing him for only 4 mos. We've been married for almost 7 years. However, it doesn't work for everyone.

Of course it's acceptable to propose if you're a woman! Have fun with it...be romantic, goofy, loving.... whatever will make it memorable for both of you!

Right...I did it. I would not recommend getting married. Just live with each other instead.
