All the good cartoons were not politically correct, therefore they went bye-bye! The aim nowdays is to not offend anyone. Did you ever notice they quit playing Speedy Gonzales cartoons way before even Looney Tunes went off the air.....

Saturday morning cartoons a now no longer great because of truth cartoons are on 24/7. We did no longer have that as toddlers. Saturday morning grew to develop into like our television time. and that i do bypass over the insects Bunny and Tom and Jerry cartoons. My commonly used ones, however were the Disney cartoons. they have been lots relaxing. i imagine like now, however, Disney has gotten all pc, and is afraid to make some other thing desirable useful than a "training" caricature. Its no longer all related to the leisure anymore.

Most of the new cartoons really stink big time. I am glad to see I am not the only one who's noticed the poor quality of the Pokemon toons. I miss the old cartoons from the late 60s through the 80s.

todays' cartoons are HORRIBLE!!! I don't even let my kids watch any of the new Japanimation crap; it's poorly drawn, violent, they cuss in the cartoons. My son prefers the old classics - he's got a Popeye tape that he's just about worn out, he loves Tom & Jerry & Roadrunner. My daughter loves Scooby Doo - at least there's still one cartoon that is pretty good. There's nothing wrong with pulling the plug on the tv when they watch stuff you don't approve of. I do it.

All the attention is focused on making cartoons for adults now. You can find the best ones on Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network. I think that our generation grew up with a cartoon fascination because of the great ones we had. So writers for those cartoons keep trying to cater to us by making cartoons that we will still like.

Agreed. I loved "Garfield and Friends". It's really too bad that today's children don't get to watch quality Saturday morning cartoons.

Have you watched them lately? They have so many innuendos that only older teenagers and above would get. They are funny but if I had children they certainly would not be allowed to watch. It seems that underlying sexual stuff is everywhere.
