why do blacks blame whites of today for slavery? Why do movies show horrible acts against blacks by?

whites? to keep the hate going? a person can be great black or white. and a person can be a sorry rat black or white. But for blacks to hate ALL white people for the past 200 years is just ignorant... Many whites helped end slavery. I use to try to make amends but i didn't start the fire. I take a person at face value no matter what color you are.

what about a person who is half white, and half black. Do u think one half of them would hate the other half?

I hate to say it but, I agree. I think that we all need to acknowledge that 1) the past happened; 2) it was worst than horrible thing that you could imagine; 3) it made white people think that blacks were not human; 4) it created laws to exclude blacks; and 5) it affects the way blacks see themselves today and how whites view blacks.

I wish that we could all take a person and examine that individual for who he/she is and not for what race they happened to be born in.

By the way, don't use the argument that whited help end slavery. While they may have been so, in the grand scheme of things, it's like putting a Kleenex over a gunshot wound. ALL blacks don't hate ALL white and ALL whites don't hate ALL blacks, but it sure does seem that way sometimes. I think that too much bitterness exist in blacks and white people just don't understand how far and how deep the hurt goes. I was raised by parents who could drink from the white water fountain or couldn't sit down to eat lunch with their white friends and couldn't go to the white beach. Those experiences and worse have shaped the generations.

As a psychologist, a believe in moving forward. I believe that in order to be ones best self, one must not get caught up in the past hurts and live life as a victim. One has to free themselves from the past. You should not feel responsible for slavery but should only be responsible for your own actions. Nor should I treat you any differently because of the actions of some people who happen to be white. I don't know what it would take for society as a whole to move towards this concept.

No one blames todays whites for slavery we blame whites for not realizing that how whites treated them through slavery and segregation. Slavery ended about 140 years ago and segregation didn't ended until 100 years latter. NO Blacks care that they ancestors were slaves ask and blacks do they care they will all say NO. Their is nothing wrong with being a slave that's OK if that's what you want to do. Remember it how they were treated that matter. Let's look at what this country did against blacks, whites today always deny the crimes committed against the black race so theirfore blacks will always remind them the crimes they(whites) committed against the black race.

The real reason is That whites today do not see any thing wrong with what America did to blacks, nor anything wrong with what their ancestors did. Today white America do not say that yeah it was our people that murders millions of blacks, lynch them, shot them, burned down their houses, rape, rob, took their language religion culture and customs, even their way of life. I could go on and on about how bad they were treated. But whites will say it was the Africans fault, the Africans may have sold them. But who killed, shot at, and lynch by the thousands?

You said help end slavery, As I said slavery is nothing because what the difference between a black man in 1855 and 1955 nothing other than one had to sevre the white man. Both was treat the same way. Emmet Till 1955 was kill for whilsling at a white women a slave in 1855 was kill for looking at a white woman. Point is because slavery ended do not mean oppression stop.

Yall say blacks don't let it go but they will as soon as America realize the crimes it did, and stop justifing it by saying it "happens". Then blacks would let it go. Everytime a white person say something on this issue like "it over or long ago" are ANY thing to make light of the most brutal crime is history. Then blacks will always argue back.Why? Because it trys to make light of a very serious crime and blacks want whites to realize it. If we make light of the situation then that would make our fathers stuggles go in vain, and 400 years of Oppression not only slavery be OK. Oppression did not happen long ago, if so why did King march for freedom in the 1960's.

It is for humanities reasons, it is the yin and yang if being humans. Most of the American blacks have been slaves for more than 400 years and just recently been "free". Just as far as recently in America and even in Africa you could be Lynch for just being black at the right place at the wrong time.

And by the way how did you come to this question? have you been inside every black peoples mind and come to conclusion they blame you for slavery?
I can list you more films that show blacks to be villains ". don't watch only the few recent stuff.
Just go back 20 years ago, or more. Blacks people were just shown as gangsters or servants.

Ash, you need to stop spreading the hate by blaming the entire white race for injustices done to blacks. If you think that only white people are evil, then you need to take a serious look at what happens around the world that doesn't make our news everyday.

Go watch Black Hawk Down to get a sample of what goes on in Africa where it is BLACK on BLACK violence with WHITE people trying to restore order.

As for the why movies and other media depictions of race relations try to keep us at each other's throats? It's to keep people divided. To the person who said white people are always at war: That is not true, European and American Governments have always been at war, not white people in general. As to the person who said blacks sold other blacks into the slavery: That is not true, the ruling elite of certain tribes sold captives from other tribes into slavery, not blacks selling blacks in general. The Aristrocracy wants to keep common people, regardless of color, both distracted and divided, and thus easier to rule. The elite of the world are truly egaliterian when it comes to other elite. The only colors the oligarchs judge people by is the color of money.

well Im 16 and and I dont see black people my age blaming white people for slavery or w/e. I think its just the some of the older generations that keep that hate and prejudice. but when they die, hopefully that prejudice on white people will go away.

You are correct. They no longer have anyone living to blame, so they will just blame the current people. There isn't anyone alive now that was a slave, so the current blacks don't even have a claim of oppression.....it's just an excuse to get something or to continue to portray themselves as 'victims'. Not all black people are this way.....only those with motive.

What alot of people fail to realize is that the blacks were sold to whites AND blacks BY BLACK PEOPLE.
Their own sold them into slavery!!!!
