I know the symptoms, but what does it actually feel like? I think I have one. I have many of the symptoms, but I am not really in pain or anything like that but I do not want it to get serious because I was too stupid to do anything about it.

Painful urination, dark or pink urine (blood in it), cloudy urine (white blood cells fighting the infection), the need to urinate frequently. Go see a doctor for some antibiotics.

You don't need to have all of the symptoms to have a UTI. For now, you can drink plenty of cranberry juice to help acidify your urine, which slows the bacteria down but doesn't cure it. The doctor will probably give you Amoxicillin, Augmentin, or Ciprofloxacin.

Here are some Signs and Symptoms:

* Urethritis: discomfort or pain at the urethral meatus or a burning sensation throughout the urethra with micturition (dysuria).
* Cystitis: pain in the midline suprapubic region and/or frequent urination
* Hematuria (bloody urine)
* cloudy and foul-smelling urine
* High temperature lasting for more than 3 days should be a trigger to get the urine culture done to ascertain whether the fever is due to UTI or not. UTI is very harmful especially in infants since it can cause permanent renal damage.
* Nausea and vomitting, accompanied by high fever may indicate a more complicated UTI in which the kidney is infected
* Some urinary tract infections are asymptomatic.
* Increased confusion and associated falls are common presentations to Emergency Departments for elderly patients with UTI.

If you think you do -- you prolly do. You don't necessarily have to have pain. If you let it go though, you could be in for a whole lot more though including incontinence. When in doubt see a Dr. You can also dring ALOT of cranberry juice and they make a product otc called AZO that works for symptoms. If you take that or need an antibiotic, you will pee flourescent yellow - orange. It's ok, just the meds flushing out your system.

I have had one when I was pregnant WITH NO SYMPTOMS -- this was years ago. But it was strange - I had a fever of 105 - was rushed and admitted to hospital (4 mos preg.) and it took them 3 days to figure out it was. Sometimes you'll have pain- I would say most of the time. Otherwise, if you like have to pee really bad - go in and pee and you hardly go -- that's also a symptom. Call the pharmacist - see if they recommend an OTC med. - probably not though - I haven't heard of any - usually need antibiotics.

If you have a painful urge to use the bathroom every five minutes - you could possibly have UTI. Stop all caffine products including sugary drinks. Drink only water or cranberry juice. I mean a jug of water...also, stay away from heavy foods - try having just a light meal of low-sodium soup or a salad. If you aren't feeling better by morning call your doctor to see about a prescription for sulfer or similiar product.

You don't have to feel pain to confirm that you have UTI. Sometimes you have it and you don't feel any pain, and you can have blood traces in your urine and you don't even notice.
I reccomend you to visit your urologyst so that he order an urianalysis.

You have to pee CONSTANTLY, usually when you go next to nothing comes out, it stings and you still feel like you need to go.
A simple urine test and the doctor will be able to treat you.
