No, it doesn't shrink at all. It can melt though so be careful about too much heat in the dryer or if you are going to iron it!

if washed in hot water. my advice is to wash it on hand wash or in the gentle/delicate cycle

First, let's stop wearing polyester. Don't wear it anymore, don't buy it anymore. This will resolve your washing dilema.
