I'd volunteer to go myself! Imagine how cool it would be to meet aliens, learn about interstellar travel, experience new worlds and new technologies, and see the universe!
To truly be the first human to cross interstellar space, it would be worth saying goodbye to my family (and better than sacrificing any of them).

I would love to go and explore the unknown! Life and time on earth is so short.... I want to see..to know.. I am sure the people who loves me will understand and support my decision. The people who say otherwise would never had been very close to me....so, who cares.

It would be me. My daughter and grandson deserve their chance on this earth. And, the aliens wouldn't be able to stand my gripey ways, so they would send me back anyway.
