If you think about the way america works these days, the gov't is always in a no-win situation. People want to be protected, but yet they raise a hissy fit when you tap their phone lines. People don't wan't to pay taxes but yet we always hear about how education is underfunded. The list goes on and on.

also people think Terrorists should be dealt with but when we go to war they get upset. (afghanistan, not Iraq:thats a hole different can of worms.)

People like the freedom of speech until someone uses the freedom of speech to criticized them or their kid.

YOUR RIGHT AND THANK GOD WE HAVE PRESIDENT WHO STANDS STRONG AND DOESN'T RUN FROM THE MEDIA AND NO MATTER WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY. THEY NEVER SHOW OR TELL THE GOOD THINGS GOING ON HERE OR OVERSEAS!!

That is so true. It's funny how we get upset about multiple sides of an issue. It takes a lot of filtering, etc. to attempt to get at the real problems, as well as solutions. And another interesting thing is that instead of offering potential solutions, some people just complain about the problem. When we try to determine solutions, often we find out that what is currently going on isn't really that bad. Most people just want what's best and/or easiest for them personally (pragmatism).

This is not only true in the US, it is true wherever there are free thinking and acting individuals.
