One of my teachers in high school was telling me he ended up settling for his wife and it was one of the most depressing conversations I have ever been a part of.

Well, when someone says they settled for whatever type of relationship they are in is because they can not be alone and have no respect for themselves or their partner. It's one of those situations that solves being lonely quick. In the long run unfortunately does not work out and the one that settled is the one that is regretting and feeling at a loss...

i think that the person you choose to marry should be someone you love and respect,but if he reacted that way then he doesn't even have respect for himself,or maybe he thought that about himself(like if he thinks his wife settled for him)
