The Only truth there is to the Divinci Code is that no one knows the truth. I think the book has been an excellent tool for two reasons....
1) It has exposed the fact that no one knows what the exact TRUTH is except the people that were there when these events happened and
2) That americans will believe damn near anything fed to them.
Things are not always so clear cut and black and white, especially when dealing in history. Think of how much these stories have changed and evolved over the last 2000 years? Think of how many peoples claim to know what the truth is and how every one of them tells a different tale? History is only told from the perspective of the victorious yet there are two sides to every story and truth is sometimes in the eye of the beholder...
Davinci Code should be used as a conversation tool to open dialogue about the possibilities presented in the book. But nothing that is told to you, unless you are presented with concrete evidence, should be taken as fact...

Of course not. The real question is: what parts of the DaVinci Code are true?
We do know that the Bible as we know it today was arrived at by The Council of Nicaea in 325 A.D. We know that Mary Magdelean and other women had a much more prominent role prior to this male consensus. The Christianities' original appeal was to women, slaves, and others that felt powerless in the Roman Empire. Once Christianity became the official state religion it didn't need those original followers anymore -- it had men.
As for DaVinci. He wrote encrypted stuff because he was gay in a world in which that was cause for the Inquisition.

The Code has a lot of what could be termed as truth in it. The Church does have secrets, there is some evidence that Christ was
committed to Mary M in a marriage. The Bible tells of things that historians know have happened, and about the way of life in Christs time, for Jewish men. Added together it makes for a very good argument. Check out HOLY BLOOD HOLY GRAIL, where you will find a lot better information than the Code has. When it's all said and done the Code used a lot of liberties, but it has got people speculating and searching. I find this a good thing.

The DaVinci Code has several truths in it. Dan Brown admits that much. The beauty of this book is how he integrates the truth with pure fiction, although sometimes I wonder....

I am not sure if there is truth in the DaVinci Code or not. I choose to equate it all to the grand imagination of an avid thinker. I don't really think it has any merit.

The da vinci code is based on research done by the writers of 'Holy Blood, Holy Grail'. Hence the lawsuit by them against Dan Brown for plagarism. But yeah, if you read that book, it'll basically show that there is a good chance in at least some of the Da Vinci Code's basic premises' accuracy.

There are Ecumical Councils that have met since Constantine's time up to the present, to decide religious dogma in the Catholic Church and there were (are) secret societies that revolve around the church. There were the Templar Knights, the Church did have thousands,if not millions of women burned at the stake for being witches....this was the first i've heard about a blood line from Jesus, so i can't comment on that.

People who are going to believe in the Da Vinci Code are the ones who already have doubts about God. Its a good story but so is the Bible and so is the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. So pick one and believe in whatever will make you happy.
And remember, always bring a towel and DON"T PANIC.

There is "some truth" to all fiction. But because it is part of human brain function to seek out patterns, it's surprisingly easy to write a piece of fiction and get people to see things that aren't (or weren't) actually there.
That's not to say that I don't believe the Catholic church (and all church, in fact) is just one big scam after another!

No you're not. I think it was written as fiction, but it has some truth to it. I believe in some of the statements from that book.
