Not ALL Americans like things big. The only two types of Americans I could think of right now that like things big are:
Mexican-Americans who like their huge SUV's to crowd up the streets.
Fat-Americans like their double-6-dollar-cheeseburgers.

Good question. But we don't all. I hate cars that are bigger, than midsize. BIg houses are, to some, more secure or at least more mysterious. As for roads, the more lanes, the better in terms of traffic. hardly anyone obeys the speed limits.

i think it's because this is a rich country and that there is more room here to build homes and highways and that americans waste a lot of food and eat too much because it's there in abundance.
