Depending on your age you may not be able to increase it, but you can maintain your present level through a sensible dumbbell or barbell workout. Only weight bearing exercises will help with bone density, most cardio workouts do not.

Make sure you get enough calcium and vitamin D together. The vitamin D helps your body absorb the calcium better. Good sources are milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, canned salmon with the bones (just make sure to mash it good), figs, soy milk. A dietician can give you a full list. Vitamin D is formed in our bodies when we are exposed to the sun. It's also added to milk. Certain exercises can help also. Walking is a very good one.

DON'T DRINK COKE OR OTHER SOFT DRINKS CONTAINING PHOPHORIC ACID!!!
Do drink milk.
Exercise in a way that stresses you bones, but also gives them a chance to recover. Weight training and running are good, two or three times a week; but swimming and cycling will NOT help because your skeleton is not being stressed.
