Your not being paid to do personal tasks at work. Your being paid to WORK. Wasting company time doing personal tasks means your less productive, and I have to pay for it, by paying higher prices for the product or service your company provides.

By being employed, you are supposed to be thinking and acting like an ADULT. If you don't want to do that, then quit and go play in the playground all day.

Yes. I check my email at work but I do it when I have a free second. I do not check my personal email if I am busy.

Depending on where you work I think it shouldn't be allowed. This is because when some one is at work they should be able to focus and not think about their personal life.

that's like asking if it's ok to close your eyes while driving. stay focused on your work and you'll be there long after some of your co-workers that try to break the rules by checking personal email at work.

my father once told me. they don't pay you for your work. they pay you to let them be wrong.

yes because if I couldnt I'd probably go on a rampage at work and be in jail and stuff....and then I'd really be pissed
