Or, life is about overcoming obstacles? Obstacles in childhood, adolescents, young adulthood and adulthood? Navigating through an unforgiving, cold world? Isn't this really what life is? You can be positive and do all you can to make your journey through this life more pleasant, but aren't we all just overcoming obstacles only to have something else get in our way?

Oh, and please do not give me a religious answer, I am a christian but, I want an answer that reflects your personal opinions on my statement. Thanks

Life is a gamble, you win some and you lose some. give and take. I believe life can be what you make of it...because nothing is certain, every moment is a chance. I always look at the bright side after accepting the worst outcome. In some bad situations, people might say why them, but why not them?? There are people out there born with no arms, legs, blind ..... they had no choice. there are people at the minute dying of hunger, illness, wars..... Life is never meant to be fair. Why should it? You would never truly understand and appreciate happiness until you face pain and suffering! If anyone feels this is a cold world then they should search in themself to realize....how are you treating others? There should be no expectations toward friends and family, then no disappointments. You must love life, in order for life to love you....besides if there were no obstacles...life would be so boring...because we already know our end. It is all about the process and not the result....the result would be...one day, we'll die and nothing will be taken with us.... So, why stress? Live each day! "better to had love and lost then never loved"

You can't wait for life to happen to you.... you have to make life happen. Yes, obstacles show up on a daily basis and you have to make choices and own them. Then, move on to the next one. Whether that decision is what to wear to work or whether or not to take a loved one off of life support (that was my father's directive and we adhered to it 4 years ago).

Personally, I don't look at things as obstacles... I look at them as opportunities. It's an opportunity to make a decision, form an opinion, learn, grow, or try a new flavor of coffee because Starbucks is out of your favorite.

So, obstacle or opportunity..... isn't that just the frame of mind? Is the glass half full or half empty. I choose to be happy each day and have a wonderful time doing it. It doesn't matter what life tosses my way. If I get rotten veggies heading my way, I think through the situation (even if it's only a second), find an umbrella (act), and take the responsibility of my choice.

life is merely as you view it, unfortunately you have to take in consideration the others around you becasue what you think about life impacts others peoples lifes, which in turn impact your life as a cycle. The idea of overcoming obstacles is a point that life is a constant struggle, if it is not then you become weak, and the weak are left as the prey of the strong in their quest to become stronger. The ultimate goal of life is yours to decide, but you have to realize that the people that are going to get in your way only strength you for further challenges in life. I have no stress and never worry about anything becaseu thats who i am regardless of what comes in my way it can easily be overcame, if not then i must continue to become stronger. to me thats what life is about, growing and you can only grow in the face of a challenge, the best art comes form people who have had a hard life and see things differently from other people, it is that overcoming of hardships that creates a bond between humans and that way we can relate, so at the base, the only thing we truly share as a species is the fact that everyone has problems.

Unfortunatley or fortunatley..depending on ones journey... it is our parents that set our future... everything you learn before the age of 8 sets your path in life..your judgements. Everyone is perfect in their own way... its "your own" beliefs (meaning each persons) that make someone right or wrong. We are taught to look at things a certain way.. and until one can accept the things as they are...there will be obstacles. Try this sometime..when something comes up, or someone does something that you dont agree with...ask yourself "what am I making it mean"...and then ask yourself "why am I making it mean this"?....you may start to look at things in a different light... NO one is the same..but are unique in their own way based on what they think is "right or wrong"....

Don't call them Obstacles, call them Challenges. Silver lining on every cloud and all that. Every experience, whether good or bad, has within the opportunity to learn and grow from it. If there were no uphills to climb, how could one have the fun of rolling downhill?
Yes, I believe life really is what you make it.

I think life is what you make of it, it's learning to overcome (or go around) obsticles, and most importantly, learning from your mistakes as well as those of others. Life can be a miserable prison or it can be an adventure - it all depends on what you WANT it to be.
