I have had probably 25 phones in the past 6 years, I've noticed that my last phone i had which was a Motorolla V710 had poor battery life, but it had almost everything you would want in a phone! The more a phone can do in my experience the shorter the battery life is going to be, a lot of newer phones have light sensitive detecters that detect if it needs to light up the keypad or not, this i think saves a lot of battery life, also do you do a lot of text messaging because most flip phones have a high resolution color screen that takes a lot of battery life, i do a lot of texting and my motorolla RazR works great. The standby time is about 2-3 days depending on temperature, cause cold temperatures drain batteries faster. If you dont have to have a flip phone, ive noticed phones such as Audiovox CDM8910 and the motorolla c343 had standby times as much as a week! Best of luck!

I dont use it too much to talk on maybe 2-3 hours during a week at most but I still dont have to chrage it that offten the only time when I have to charge it alot is when I'm traveling and switching towers alot

We have Verizon and just purchased the LG VX9800. We got 2 actually, buy 1 get 1 free. Lots of frills and so far no hassles! We love them!

Check out http://www.phonescoop.com. It lists every phone, and you could do a search for stand by time. LG VX8300 came out for Verizon this month, it's supposed to have excellent stand-by time!

i don't have a Verizon phone but i did sell cell phones for different companies. the best i saw was by Motorola. they seem to have better stand by time than any other phone manufacturer. i hope this helps you. i personally use sprint and i have their Toshiba phone it also has a good stand by on it also.

Ask your cell phone representative if they have stats on standby time. If they don't, don't buy it.
