As much as ballet is fun to do in a group. You can totally still dance solo, in fact, when you're learning it's better to focus on yourself.

There are some great ballet books out there like "The Dancer's Companion" by Eliza Minden.

Always point your toes, always hold your core, and STRETCH!

as a dancer I have to admit that it is more fun to have someone else coaching and pushing you but if you have yourself that is just as good because you should be your own critic, not you worse critic, just your own. I never took actual studio lessons but I taught myself pointe and it's got to be the hardest thing I learned on my own but well worth it! However, if you are going to attempt to do this on your own do it in front of a mirror. Always check your alignment (ear to shoulder to hip to knee to ankle to toes-straight line) and have something sturdy to hold onto for balance until you can let go and do let go but always be cautious because if done carelessly you can break or sprain your ankles and that hurts like hell!
