i have 3 cpus in my home with verizon isp . i called them and stupid tech support said they couldnt help me because my wireless router is net gear and they not support net gear ,"youll have to get one of ours for it to work ! i couldnt believe what i was hearing .one is a dest top and the 2 others are lap tops which all run just fine now has is . my question is if i disconnected my desk top and just ran the 2 lap tops on the wirrless router would it work ? or does the wirless router need to be phyisclly connected to a dest top to perform right ? or would it still work just fine with out it ? thanks folks im a tech noob here :)

no if you are just trying to get on the internet wirelessly no you just have to have it connected to the dsl modem if your computer has a wireless card in it it will detect the wireless network

If any of your computer work then you can go to the netgear web page and run their set up wizard. You might can do this via the installation disc. I have a desktop hooked up directly to a netgear router and also use a lap top wireless. You can use the lap top while the desktop is turned off so I'm guessing that if all the computers are properly configured then you don't have to have the direct wired desk top in the loop. There is also a forum at the netgear site for this type question.

do your computers see the connection if not install the cd or call netgear at 1-800-211-2069
