You have once again reminded me why I spent 30 years in the USAF; to protect the right of every American to go about and waste time and resources asking the most ignorant effin questions. I see evolution happening here. The questions are becoming more ignorant with the passage of time. For you I am guessing single digit IQ score.

I'm from Tennessee.
While it doesn't seem deserving of the title sometimes, Tennessee is indeed a state.
Did you know that it borders the largest number states in the country?

Is our educational system really that bad? Yes, Tennessee is a state. It is located north of Georgia. It is considered to be part of the "South." If you are over the age of 10 and live in the U.S., you really need to get your hands on a U.S. map.
