Scenario 1: You want to login to the wireless router as administrator to make some changes.

Consult your wireless router manual for the default login name and password. If the password or the login name was changed then you can reset them to the default by RESETing the wireless router to the factory default setting. There is usually a button that does this on the back of the router.

Scenario 2: You are trying to access an encrypted wireless network that requires a password (passphrase).

If it's truly "your" network then you need to ask your network administrator who setup the network for the passphrase to be able to use the wifi network. You will not find out what the password is otherwise, (unless you hack it).

Scenario 3: You are able to login to the wireless network but are NOT able to access a resource on the network because it is password protected.

There is probably a good reason why you are given restricted access to this resource, but if you need access you need to consult your network administrator for the password.

Scenario 4: You can establish a wireless connection but you cannot log in (authenticate) to the network.

Once again consult your network administrator.

When you go into the setting area of your Router, you will get a listing of the "KEYS" if you have WEP enabled. You can set them and print out a copy that set of "KEYS". The next time your laptop connects that box will come up and you can enter whichever KEY it asks for from the printout you have. This works for the Linksys Wireless router. If your network is Unsecure, you do not need to use it. You can also set up a new one. Check here to do that - http://micro.uoregon.edu/homenetworking/linksys/
