I am amazed the USA has the temerity to tell others about DEMOCRACY and send their soldiers to die for this ideal when in its own back yard fraud is endemic. After all the present President is the result of voter fraud.

lundstroms2004, What disgraceful sentiments. I can tell you in Egland as you say, where voter fraud is suspected it is investigated, and action taken. Be it court action or prison, and in one case during their last general elections, one county (Smallheath, Birmingham) had a re-vote because of 350 odd contested votes. In the USA, people are charged with false charges to keep them quiet from bringing Fraud to light. Do you think a country that holds itself as a beacon to others should involve itself in such disgraceful behaviour?

You do make a good point. I am from the USA and it makes me sick how my country thinks it can export democracy and tell all the other countries in the world how to run themselves. I think the USA needs to first fix the beam in its own eye in order to better help fix the motes in the eyes of others.

Yawn. Get real dude. Every nation has voter fraud, be it England, America, France, PJapan, South Africa, or anywhere else that votes are tallied. Voter fraud exists in every system.

Unlike the previous idiot, who thinks UN observors ensure a non-fraud vote, maybe he should read up on somalia today. In seriousness though, if you say GWB is a result of voter fraud, then so is Clinton, because, afterall, he never once got more than 50% of the popular vote.

But what we really see in your statement above is that you wrap an agenda into your quest for information, and the only thing that will satisfy you is "preaching to the converted".

Do some real research. The thrice counted votes showed Bush indeed did win. The supreme court ruled in favor of Bush. The electoral college in fact is the one who elects the prez anyway, this MEDIA SPUN BELIEF that the election was fraudulent is simply NOT TRUE. The U.S. wants to help the world, but everyone condemns us at the outset of even the smallest hiccups. We deserve more credit, and for us to continue to thrive, the world must be allowed to thrive with us. We do not intentionally treat other nations and peoples poorly in an effort to continue our "supremacy". People and nations disagree sometimes about the way to go about things...but the U.S. is misunderstood, while constantly being harped on for not understanding others. The media in our country and other countries does not care about you or me...democratically elected politicians for the most part are in the job for the desire to help others. There are MANY viewpoints about the way the world is today. Americans are not the only ignorant ones. Remember that, and remember that the media is NOT looking out for you or me. Watch FahrenHYPE 911. It is the rebuttal to Michael Moore's film. Read other viewpoints besides the ones your preconceived notions already align you with!

First of all...Lundstrum: Clinton didn't get 50% because he was running against 2 other major candidates. It would be really difficult to accomplish 50% against 2 candidates. And you don't need 50% of the vote to win. As for the question at hand: A lot of us don't want to tolerate it...we have to. The election reform issues fail because the ones running the elections are corrupt. Therefore, their elections will always turn up in their favor. It's disappointing.

The main reason, I believe, that we tolerate "voter fraud" is because there's nothing we can do about it. The people perpetuating the fraud control the government, and as such it would be nigh impossible to gain enough support to actually take action.

Most Third World countries get observers from the UN and many other countries at the time of elections, so in fact there is no fraud in poor countries.

USA does not allow for observers, though.

It's unbelievable, I've been wondering the same thing. The reason is probably because of the same reasons they get GPS--or should I say "human tracking devices"? because everyones fears have been fed. so now they have all this stuff to "keep safe" that people have/will buy and the government can tap into. Hell they're already doing it w/cell phones and no one cares about that. Another reason could be they're too busy to care. Thats it-too busy.
