reading is the key to knowledge... You can find reading material on just about ANY subject in the world. I love to read and I will never read enough in my lifetime to obtain all the knowledge that I seek...
knowledge can be interrperated in to wisdom.. only if the knowledge is true and factual. I say read all you can, whenever you can... Knowledge and Power is the ultimate key correct? Why not enlighten yourself!!!!!!

I personally LOVE reading. There is no such thing as too much reading. Reading can help your thinking process, and a lot of times people just like to read in their spare time instead of sitting in front of the TV all day. So I don't know what your parents are talking about. They should be encouraging you to read, not putting you down.

My niece has the exact same problem with her parents (my brother). She is 15 now. She has always gotten high achievment awards, every kind of literary award as well as art also. In my opinion there is no such thing as "too much knowledge-this comes to us many times in the form of reading". What they may be trying to say is that they think you should have other interests, maybe even more of a social life. I say you keep on being "you!"

It depends. They may just be worried that you are closing yourself off from others and not getting the social aspect of life. They probably worry you aren't forming relationships and keep to yourself too much. You can read too much if you are not getting out excercising, meeting people and expanding your experiences. Reading is great - but even on college applications they don't want someone with super brains and no experience :)
