The "Maisonette" restaurant in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio is a french restaurant that maintained its' 5-star Michelin rating for over 25 years. It was one of the longest runs of any restaurant in the world. Gourmets came from all over the world to Cincinnati to dine there.
This probably is not the information you were after, but I thought I would throw it in the mix.

In Britain, Maisonett is a small apartment on two levels which is part of a larger building but has its own entrance at street level.
Having said that, this word is rather less in use presently, since most of the Briton often prefer the use of word "Apartment" instead now.
