Take it back to any department store that carries Christian Dior and show them them that it hasn't reached the expiration and that it is dry. They should gladly exchange it. It doesn't matter where it was purchased since it was a gift, there is no way for you to know where it was purchased. Good Luck!

I am a Mary Kay Consultant. Everyone should change their mascara every 3 months. If it is dry do not add water to it, it will only cause bacteria to grow. Do not add eye makeup remover to it because that isn't the ideal thing to do. Take it back to the store where it was purchased and return it. I know that Mary Kay has a 100% product replacement guarantee and also customer satisfaction policy. So should this company. Some one suggested the Ultimate Mascara from Mary Kay. It is a bit expensive for $15 but it is well worth it. Mary Kay also carries a Waterproof Mascara for $10. If you need any other advice feel free to email me.

heat up a pot of water (DON'T BOIL IT) and stick the mascara in for 30 sec-1min it will make the mascara moist w/out leaving it too watery..
but if it's old u need to throw it away. makeup goes bad after a month & develops bacteria in it.

boil some water then take it off the stove. Let your mascarra sit in the hot water for about 5 minutes. Should do the trick. Whatever you do, do not add water to the mascarra. It will cause bacteria to form.
