How many of you given the choice would marry a guy that you were madly in love with or one that you were not so in love with, but he was very financialy secure and would stay by your side for the rest of your life?
I have already been through the roller coaster ride of loving someone who gave nothing back and left me in financial ruins. Now I have the choice of loving chaoticaly again or choosing the quieter path with a man who is secure and will be here forever but doesn't have quit as much of a spark.

I was married for 10 years with "spark". I live in a small town and can't leave here to just move around until I find a guy with "spark and security". I am working very hard as a single mom with no child support and am limited on options becuase I refuse to go bar hopping to meet men and that is about all there is around here..... also tried the internet and just met a bunch of freaks. Thinking about just giving up and staying single.

Marry for money so long as you are not completly repulsed. or you'll be asking the same question again shortly.
Proof: Faster growing group of single's. Men in their early 30's (surpasing single moms who now realize they can marry for money, and justify it by doing the best for her kids) whose first wife was "madly in love" but he was just not rich enough so that she did not have to work, when she was ready to have kids, or buy a house, etc... seen it all (probably because she also spent too much). Then the women drag them through the system taking all the liquid assest and leaving behind debt.
Hey I am one, I meet girls sparks fly but as soon as they realize I got the financial screw job, they fly faster than any sparks.
Marriage has been turned into a capitalistic system period.
And all those love stories, would not do so good if it actually happened. People read the books and watch the movies and say "if it could only happen to me".
Yes it can, you have a 1 in 23,000,000 chance of winning the lottery.

Security is a nice thought, isn't it? But what happens 10 years from now when you think back to all the things you missed out on because your relationship had no spark. Different people want different things from life. If all you care about it money, go with the security. If you want true happiness, I believe you wait until you find someone that you want to be with more than anything else, regardless of how much money he has. Who knows, maybe the perfect guy will have that security you're looking for too.

I'd say live and go with the one who makes you happy because the rich guy can always go broke and then you'll both be broke and miserable. Work for self, and love for life! You'll never go wrong.
What happens when you hacve kids and your not happy but there are because they have both parents. What happens when you so miserable and he is mentally or emotionally abusing you and you want to leave but it will break your kids heart then what do you do.
Don't create a hard life long situation when you know it won't work!
