Just like your body your ear drums get older too the older you get the tougher it is to hear higher frequencies and since younger people have such good hearing at times we can hear those high pitched tones its almost like doing a hearing test again for school most adults fail that kind of test when given at a later age. I have never heard of the Ringer myself but thats why Adults cant hear it as well as others.

The reason adults can't hear the ringtone is because as we get older a part of our ear drum changes and becomes weaker to some sounds. Because kids are younger their ears have not aged yet so they can hear it.

It depends on your hearing. I can hear it and I'm an adult. It's pretty annoying. It sounds like a dog whistle, not a ring tone. You're better off putting the phone on vibrate, then use that ringtone.

As people age, many develop what's known as aging ear — a loss of the ability to hear higher-frequency sounds.

The ring tone is a spin-off of technology that was originally meant to repel teenagers — not help them. A Welsh security company developed the tone to help shopkeepers disperse young people loitering in front of their stores while leaving adults unaffected. The company called their product the "Mosquito."

The ringtone itself is at 17khz and most adults can't hear it. I know I can't.

Yeah, I heard about it on the news. They reported that during our teen years we have the best hearing. As people began to age their hearing ability decreases. That's why the students in your class could hear the ringtone and the teacher couldn't.

I have heard about it. The inner ear in older adults does not work as well as the inner ear of young adults. Which is why they can not hear the ring tone. It started in England, because they use to noise to irritate children so they will not loiter outside of stores.

brain is right.

It was developed in Wales (that's in europe) by a security company to play outside of stores to keep kids from hangin out there.

Someone stole it to make a ringtone out of it, but it actually isn't the same frequency exactly.

I played it at work during a meeting, and only one other guy heard it. They all thought he was loosing it.

basically like your physique your ear drums grow previous too the older you get the harder it is to take heed to greater frequencies and because youthful human beings have such good listening to at circumstances we are able to take heed to those extreme pitched tones its basically like doing a listening to try back for college maximum adults fail that form of try while given at a later age. I unquestionably have by no ability heard of the Ringer myself yet thats why Adults cant hear it as properly as others.
