It's not. Abortion is not okay. The only time abortion is acceptable is in the case of rape, because no kid wants to grow up to find out they were the product of rape. I despise this culture of checking if your kid has Down's syndrome and such like prior to birth, as people react by aborting the foetuses. How dare we play God just because someone is not conventionally perfect? Everyone has value.

No, abortion is wrong too. It is murder. It is the decision to terminate another life, and the other person is entirely powerless to resist.

Until a baby is born, it is not it's own person. As long as the fetus resides in the woman's body, it is a part of her, not it's own separate entity. Therefore, a woman has the choice to do what she may with her body. For instance, your birthday is the day you leave your mothers womb, and the umbilical cord is cut. Your birthday does not begin the day of conception (the intercourse which caused the pregnancy), and the nine months you spend in the womb do not count toward your birth date. That is because you are not your own person until you leave the womb. Once someone is born then they are their own person, then they are given their own social security number, then they count as one more person to the worlds population, then and only then are they an individual. We all have various opinions on the issue of abortion. But what has been written above, is true whether a person is for abortion or against abortion. Read carefully and you will see the big difference between the two.

This is a really touchy subject and people are probably never going to agree on this but I believe that there are alternatives to abortion. I mean there is always adoption. I know it is different if a girl was raped and I feel that abortion should be an option, but if you want to have an abortion because you are not responsible enough to practice safe sex, then thats when abortion becomes murder. Don't punish another life because you were irresponsible. If you were raped though it is a different situation.

They are both wrong!! People come up with the craziest excuses but in the end it's murder and it's wrong. My veiw on Abortion is that people shouldn't kill a baby because they made a stupid mistake. That is not the baby's fault. As for rape, even there I still wouldn't stand for it. Don't punish the baby for someone elses sin. Put it up for adoption if it comes to you not being able to live with it. If people don't think they are ready to have a baby then they aren't ready to have sex. But to answer your question Murder is murder and abortion is murder! Clear and simple.

the beginning of life is conception. that is when we start growing into life form, not b4 the egg is fertilized not after. if a mother has an abortion, she is a murderer. if a mother gets drunk and shoots up heroin while theres a growing lifeform within her womb, she is sick in the head. Jesus Christ was stuck in Mary's womb for 9 months, thank God she didnt kill Jesus Christ. Anyway, murder is murder, abortion is murder, the only time 'abortion' is 'ok' is to save the life of the mother.

Abortion is a gray area. Some people believe life begins when you conceive, others when you draw your first breath. It's an individuals interpretation. I believe in the cases of incest, rape, or the health of either one is in jeopardy, then abortion is feasible. I've seen some women that regret having it done. And others that didn't give it a second thought.

So it's all on how you define abortion.

You are confusing criminal acts with ethics. Neither is arbitrarily wrong or OK. Your question doesn't warrant a simple yes or no answer. There are many circumstances to be considered. The world is not black and white. Consider making your question more narrowly defined. Why is this question so important to you? If this is something that really bothers you, why not consult some authority you trust? Kindest regards.

Three days after conception...can you remove the zygote from the mother's uterus, and have it breathe and sustain "life" on its own? No? You can't? Then it is not ALIVE.

As for rape - why should a victim of rape be sentenced to carrying the rapist baby in her stomach for nine months (and then having to tell everyone that asks about her pregnancy about the rape) and then be sentenced to a life time of wondering if, after giving it up for adoption, that person will one day hunt her down like an animal, not caring what the intrusion is doing to her life, because they are "curious"?

It doesn't matter. If a woman wants to have an abortion, let her. She will find a way one way or the other. It's her soul.

I think politics and religion should not mix! I'm against abortion, but I believe it to be the woman's choice.
