I see all kind of answers popping up. Let's see if I can help.

I have ITunes in my Mac at work and my PC at home. I went to apple.com and downloaded them both for free. So far, I have not noticed any problems in my systems' performance.

Yes, to download any music for you to keep, it will cost you about a dollar per tune. The internet radio potion offers you a heck of a lot of programming for ABSOLUTELY FREE, but you do have to listen to a few commercials once in a while,

I tunes offers a lot more. It's a fantastic music organizer, CD and MP3 burning program that is easy to use. I listen to radio on my computer and play a lot of CDs too, through I Tunes. I store a mega buttload of music directly on my hard drive so I dont have t fish around for a disc.

If you have the RAM and hard drive space, it won't hurt to give it a try.

iTunes is free to download and run, and they offer some free content.

However, most of the music or videos you BUY from iTunes are not- most of the music, for example, is 99 cents a song.
