i am 16 and i love to sing and i am pretty good at it .. it dont want a contest or a gig that isnt going to get me anywhere.... i want something that will actually take me places..... i have pictures if you want to see what i look like...... please let me know...... email if you know about anything that will be useful to me.... thanks

Any contest or any gig will get you somewhere. The key is to be in the right place at the right time and have the right person hear you. Winning a contest doesn't guarantee success. Many people here are suggesting American Idol but that show only gets a few people discovered. There are many more musicians who have never been on that show who are doing well. My best advice is that any contest and any gig could be the one that gets you noticed so be patient. If you do have the talent you will be discovered.

American Idol or get a singing teacher and they can tell you about alot of signing contests!

Depending where you're from, either Canadian or American Idol. They always get record deals. I know no one thinks that's true, but look at Kelly Clarkson, or Rex Goudie.
