The Maine State Bar Association (MSBA) has no role in the admission of people to the practice of law and no role in the regulation or discipline of lawyers, according to their website.

Instead, you should contact the Maine Board of Overseers of the Bar. The Board regulates the conduct of lawyers by enforcing the Maine Bar Rules adopted by the Court. The purpose of the Bar Rules is provide appropriate standards for attorneys with respect to their practice of the profession of law, including, but not limited to their relationship with their clients, the general public, other members of the legal profession, the courts and other agencies of this State. Under the Bar Rules, the Board appoints Bar Counsel who investigates alleged misconduct by lawyers and, when authorized to do so by a reviewing panel of the Grievance Commission, litigates grievance complaints at public disciplinary proceedings.

Bar Association, like the Better Business Bureau is a membership organization. They have no power over individuals. Contact your attorney general's office. If the amount is small enough you can sue in small claims court and in some states they use mediation which is cheap or free.

The Bar Association for the Municipality where he practices law - Like the Maine Bar Association - I know Georgia has one - I assume Maine does as well. As far as getting money back, you'll probably have to sue the attorney. You have to ask yourself - is it worth the attorney fees if I don't win.....

Based on this guys address, contact the local courthouse in his area/town and ask to speak to the court administrator. Without giving out details, ask this person for information on how to contact the local Bar Association. The local Bar Association will be able to help you from there.

Get another Lawyer to help you report him, and
get your money back. It might be the BAR association.
Hmmmm, I wonder if he even was a Lawyer.
