There is no bloody show and im not having contractions, but the amount of fluid has increased in the last few days. I know they say always call your dr, but was wondering if this was normal. This my first baby so i dont want to seem like a hypochondriac

Yea it could be slowly leaking but dont worry there is alot of water in there with the baby and as long as you havent lost your mucous plug and there is no bloody show then there is probably not much going on....
By increase of fluid, do you mean that you have th eurge to pee every second but you can tell it is not pee? OR are you actually leaking...? One way to tell the difference is too lay down... when your water is breaking it will leak out uncontrollably when you are laying down (becasue the babies head blocks the opening when you stand..called the cork effect) If you can control the flow then it most likely isnt your water breaking. Also I know this sounds wierd but KEEP DRINKING WATER...lots and lots of water.... that way if it is your water leaking the baby is still being hydrated. Also the water keeps you hydrated and decreases the chances of going into to labor early. at this point you should be seeing your doc every week so at your next appointment mention it...but I can tell you from expereince that as long as you are not having rythmic contractions and as long as you still notice movement from your baby then your doc is gonna tell ya to go home and relax.

Call your doctor. Sometimes the smell test isn't accurate. Sometimes it will start and stop too, depending on where the hole or tear in the sac is. It could be nothing at all, just some urine leaking, which is normal. It may be amniotic fluid. The only way to know is to call your doctor. I wouldn't wait to call either. 36 weeks is still early and you don't want to take a chance of having this baby this early.
It could be a bladder infection. Urine will leak with a bladder infection and you may think it's fluid. Happened to me with my last pregnancy. Sometimes there aren't any other signs, since pregnant women have to pee all the time anyway.
If the amount of fluid has increased, then you have a right to worry. Call you doctor and tell them what is going on. Most doctors will see you the same day or tell you to go to labor and delivery.
If you can't get a hold of your doctor, go to labor and delivery. There is nothing wrong with being cautious, especially with a preterm labor.

It can be really hard to tell the difference. Scent is one clue. Pee smells like, well, pee, while amniotic fluid is sweet-smelling.
But you really do need to call your doctor. If your water has broken and you're leaking, you're at a heightened risk of infection and your doctor will want to monitor you very closely.
All first time moms are hypochondriacs. Second-time moms, too! The doctors and nurses are used to it, and shouldn't make you feel dumb for asking. And this one is definitely a "call in" situation.

You should call your Dr. Your water may have broke and you could be in the early stages of labor. Some people do not have labor pains right away, but call. They may want to see you and check if you are dialated. Good luck with the baby!! :)

I'd go straight to L&D or the ER if you've been leaking for days and are unsure if it's urine or amniotic fluid.

does it constantly leak or does it stop? If it stops it's just your baby is pressing on your bladder if it is constant you need to go in because it very well could be amniotic fluid

I would call your Dr. He/She may have you come in and they have little strips where if it changes to a certian color it is amniotic fluid that way you will know for sure!

Smell it. If it has the smell of urine/ammonia then it's urine. Amniotic fluid has a sweet smell.
