i would say that he is intrested in you. but don't call it a date until you two are alone and out doing something together. And remember this is the year 2006 you can always ask him out on a date.

i'd say he's interested in you, though baseball practice is the last place i'd ask a girl to come to if i was interested in her...but, for his sake, show some quiet enthusiasm while you're there, talk to him when he comes over to you, and if you guys do something after, then he was using the practice as a setup conversation piece for a date

You might as well learn this now and at an early age. Guys are so different than girls. We like to show and do things with the girls we like. We like to have our girlfriends just sit and be with us, By you going to his practice you are saying to him he is worth the effort and time.
My friend actually has his wife sit next to him while he works on the cars engine. She knows nothing about cars but he just likes to talk with her and know she's near.
Your friend wants to know you like him and like what he does. Baseball is most likely his first true love and he hopes you will approve of it and like it as much as he does.

Most likely interested in you. However, if he asks others to attend his practice though..it could be that he wants you to be his friend too. And, if after his practice, he wants to do some activity with you..one-on-one..he is most definitely interested.

It's a slow trickle. Why don't you suggest a real destination for after the practice; dinner out or going for a cone or a hotdog and see where it leads?

when a guy "likes" you or is sort of interested, they want to be show-offs. I wouldn't call watching practice a date, but if you like him, it may show your interest too. things may develop from there

He's interested in you. He's interested in baseball he's is mixing his two interests. This is a good thing.
Go, if you think it's crap and boring - which it is, lie. I won't like sharing his interests anymore if not.
goodluck
