Actually Otto von Bismarck (German statesman, 1815-1898) is attributed to having said:
"Those who love sausage and obey the law should not watch either being made."
So I'd stick with Otto's advice and watch neither.

Other verison of the quote:
"Those who like sausage and the law should never watch either being made."

Sausage. For one thing, I love sausage. For another, I think we have too many laws already. We are not free anymore. We cannot do what we want with our own property anymore. We cannot worship God or teach morals or etiquette in school anymore. We can't even say the pledge to our flag anymore (with or without Under God!!)! Skip the stupid laws and make more sausage!! I'll make the pancakes!! Vermont, NH, Maine and Canada will bring the maple syrup! Wisconsin and California will bring the cheese!

I think bigjarom is onto something. We would probably benefit from processing most of our legislators into sausage. It wouldn't be kosher but like the old joke about the 1967 war, the Israeli army (and many Jews) do a lot of unofficial eating

Sausage. At least then I know all the little pieces that are being put into it! It is harder to conceal corruption in sausage-making.
Both are gross processes.
